Whats The Link?

Taking school photos can be a very demanding job, stretching your patience to the limits.

Our studio shoots around Ten thousand school children, twice a year within West Yorkshire, Lancashire and South Yorkshire using our white studio background system.

From taking the initial school photo to returning proof cards and finished products takes just a matter of days.

This puts my equipment and my staff into very demanding situations however every so often its nice to get a little pat on our backs from our Local Celebs.

So what has Actor John Thompson and footballers Sean Wright Phillips and Paul Scholes got in common?

Well they have all had their children photographed by Philip Fearnley Photography Ltd and bought some fantastic school photos. Their children attend two of Manchester's elite Prep schools where we as a company supply photography.

Any how for security reasons we are not allowed to show any images of the children but here's some low res pictures of the guys them selves.

Just as a funny foot note, as I was unloading my car to set up for the shoot, Paul Scholes stopped out side the school to drop his child off and got a parking ticket, right in front of me!

Capture Portraits Got Talent !

Its another first for Capture from Philip Fearnley Photography as Tom Stamp "Big T" our Saturday Trainee Photographer Wowed our customers with his key board skills. Tom 16yrs old, is studying for his GCSE 's at Calder high School and needed just a bit more practice for his music exams, so like true professionals we bought a keyboard for the studio and let him entertain our portrait clients.

If you fancy having some live music during your session or you would like to make your shoot extra special Toms happy to play for you, for a small donation to his collage fund. check out http://www.choosecapture.co.uk/

Camera Owners

There's a great saying in my trade and it's one you all need to think about, my valued clients, potential clients and photographers checking out my site.

Owning a camera does not make you a photographer, it makes you someone who owns a camera

So called photographers who own a camera and start to trade as professional photographers without any formal training, no membership to any professional photographic associations and without the relevant insurance policies including CRB checks if you work with children are Not professional photographers, they are just someone who owns a camera.

I'm in the very enviable position of being at the top of my professions and I can proclaim that all my Full and Part time staff have the relevant knowledge, training and professional background needed to work for my studio. Infact we actually do work placements for calderdale schools offering photographic placements as well as more formal lectures for the BIPP and MPA, at a local level
www.bipp.com
www.thempa.com

Now the point to todays rant is that if you want to use photographers who profess to be professionals, ask for all the information I've just gone over, and if they try to pass work off thats clearly not been taken by them, or not part of any governing body but they have a nice camera, they are clearly just owners of a nice camera!

Portrait parties goes on the road

It is with great pleasure that I can announce that due to high demand our studio will now be open 7 days a week to cope with the massive demand for portrait parties in Halifax and the surrounding areas. http://portraitparties.co.uk/
It is with even greater plesure that I can also anounce that in the next few days we will be launching Capture Portrait Parties on the road. This gives you the chance to have a party at home or in a venue of your choice.
My main photographer Miss Beckie Fisher BIPP will be in running the Parties on the road. So watch out here we come.
Once again we lead the way with our parties where the competitions dare not follow. http://www.choosecapture.co.uk/
