The Best UAV (Drone) setup
As a professional photographer and commercial UAV pilot I often get asked by fellow photographers, what type pf aircraft should I buy to do house photos, film for TV or movies etc....The answer is simple.
To get the very best images from your drone filming I recommend you use the most stable flying platform you can afford.
This could be a mini quad copter like a DJI phantom with a built in camera, a mid range UAV such as the DJI S900 carrying the Panasonic GH4 or heavy lift Octocopter like the Sky Jib, built to carry anything up to a Red Epic.
As important as the aircraft are the two other elements, your camera which needs to give outstanding results and your gimbal which holds the camera in place.
I use the aeronavics Xm8 multicopter for reliability, its a medium lift UAV capable of carrying most DSLR cameras even with a zoom lens. I use the Canon 5D for fantastic 21meg still images and a Panasonic GH4 mirror-less camera for lightweight 4k filming.
To keep all the action super stable as I fly, I use the FreeFly Movi M5 gimbal which in my opinion is the most stable gimbal in the world when using our flying set up. It can also be taken off the aircraft and used as a hand held camera stabilizer for ground based shots which give me even filming opportunities.
This combination of reliability, quality and stability will give your production, the value needed to create the perfect flyovers and stunning still images.

Weddings Unplugged
For over 30 years the Fearnley name has been leading the way in all aspects of photography, especially weddings which has always made us market leaders.
Philip Fearnley LMPA LBIPP, is now proud to launch his new wedding service re branding it Weddings Un-Plugged. Why unplugged? Well, wouldn’t it be nice to let all your guests attend your wedding and have them leave their iphone, cameras even ipads at home or in their handbags, leaving you to be photographed by a professional photographer.
One of the last weddings I photographed I counted around 30 people taking photos of the Bride and Groom walking down the aisle giving them both flash blindness and almost wrecking the professional shots. Not forgetting the Uncle who thinks he is a photographer and keeps standing behind the couple as we are photographing them from the front!
Now, for the first time ever we will give your wedding guests access to down load any images they like from your wedding totally free of charge just by joining our mailing list. Giving you a more relaxed and slightly less stressful day (photo wise).

Keeping it simple, choose from either package and add an album after your wedding
• £1295 Coverage from bridal preparations until wedding breakfast
• £1595 Coverage from bridal preparations until first dance
* A non refundable deposit of £250 is payable at the time of booking to secure your wedding day
OUR WEDDINGS ALL INCLUDE • A fun pre-wedding photo shoot at our Studio giving you chance to meet Philip Fearnley and also choose a mounted Signature print for your guest to sign on the wedding day. Far more personal than just a book!
* Pre wedding consultation. Around 1 month prior to your wedding day we will have a meeting to discuss your wedding day running order. This involves going through timings, what style of photos you like, who’s in the formal photos, where’s the best place to take dramatic images, how do guests access the website and a whole host of other things. Final payments are due at this point.
* Your wedding day coverage starts from the Bridal home, capturing the full atmosphere of the preparations. It then moves onto the ceremony and includes a mix of fun informal reportage style photography together with a more traditional style of formal groups. Depending on the package you require your photography will either end once you are seated for the wedding breakfast or the first Dance (9pm latest)
* (Images on CD) All your images are edited, colour corrected and enhanced using Photoshop to give you stunning images and supplied to you on DVD or CD. These are High resolution images shot on the industries most advanced cameras. Each image comes with full copyright for you to print from. We also supply you with a contact book of all these images to make referencing them a bit easier.
* (Free down loads) Tell your guest to leave their Iphone and cameras at home and make it a flash free wedding. Your guests may view and purchase any image from your wedding day via our password protected website. However, by joining our mailing list we will forward on a link for them to down load an unlimited number of images from your wedding day, free of charge for them to print their own photos.
• Cinematic highlight film of your day. This is a fantastic way to let your wedding guest see what went on through out the whole day. We use Digital SLR cameras with built in HD video and capture still and live movement without you even being aware. After the day we edit the footage, add music and upload to our Capture TV, youtube site for all the guests to see. We even supply you with a DVD copy.
•Albums not included.
•This service is the perfect way for you to get a full set of images for you to do with as you like and not restrict you to an Album (print your own)

Closed for the summer holidays
Just a quick note to let you know that the studio will be closed from 12 noon 18th August until 9am Tuesday the 28th of August. This is time for me to recharge my batteries for the big Christmas rush thats not so far away.

Big T makes it to the BBC
When Tom Stamp produced a series of shots for his AS Level photography course, answering the brief ‘high rise’, he realised he’d made it big - huge, in fact - but he probably didn’t expect to be snapped up by the BBC.
Stamp produced a series of ‘giant’ images (see above) set around Peel Media’s MediaCityUK and posted them on Flickr.
After making the front page of Flickr Explore they caught the eye of the various creative sorts at the Beeb, who very much liked what they saw.
To mark the relocation of the broadcaster’s first tranche of staff to the new home of BBC North at MCUK, Stamp was asked to produce a similar themed shot for the cover of in-house title Ariel.
The latest edition - Week 20 - went to press as the staff moved in this Monday.
A BBC Ariel reporter commented: “We wanted to mark the opening of the Salford offices with a special cover, as it's a pretty historic moment for the BBC, so we commissioned Tom to design a cover with images of BBC North director Peter Salmon and some on-air talent who work for BBC North output.
“We were really pleased with his striking design and it's been a great opportunity to support a young local talent.”
After this sort of endorsement we’d expect Stamp to score a similarly huge result in his photography course. Good luck Tom.

Beth and Dans Wedding photos
